Making liveable, doable - a new approach to city planning
Struggling with inequitable access to infrastructure and services, many Australians are living without the support they need to successfully live, work and play.
And as our population grows, so does the pressure on our cities: today the average worker in an Australian capital city spends over six weeks a year commuting.
City planning must be based on a broader set of data than mere population size and growth. We need to focus on creating inclusive cities where everyone, regardless of income, can prosper and thrive.
We need smarter infrastructure that connects us to the people and places we love. Most importantly, we must think big while never losing sight of the little things that make life great.
We’ve collaborated with Kinesis, the urban analytics and modelling experts to create a citizen centric data-driven city planning tool called City Maker that can help local councils, Government and communities work together to solve the challenges caused by massive growth.
By better understanding infrastructure pain-points, transport efficiency, congestion and housing needs we’re creating insights that will help create connected cities that don’t just work, but flow.
