The increasing disruption of the energy market, coupled with the ongoing recognition by governments on the crucial role that data plays in the future security, reliability and affordability of energy, prompted this organisation to reassess the role of its data with consideration of key issues such as data governance and sharing.
The organisation had a number of strategic data projects on its agenda that would enable its business to deliver new services with trusted data and seamlessly unlock potential opportunities for the commercialisation of its data.
Support was required to successfully execute against these strategic data projects, and specifically design and implement a data governance framework and platform to increase leverage and trust of data.
Solution
Designed and implemented a sustainable data governance capability, and as part of this:
Performed assessment of the organisation’s data management maturity to identify their baseline data capability and where capability uplift was required
Developed a data governance framework, including a data governance operating model and systemised, automated data management services, through the implementation of a new enterprise data governance platform
Applied a business-led approach to define the requirements for the data governance platform solution and demonstrated new services through prioritised initiatives
Developed the high level architecture and solution design to support the implementation of the new platform across the business in line with requirements
