The Australian funds management industry is growing steadily, with FY25 revenue of approximately $11.6bn forecast to reach $13.6–$14bn by 2030, supported by ESG demand, institutional and wholesale investor participation, and product and technology innovation (IBIS World, July 2025).
So what: growth is not translating into easy margin expansion. Fee pressure, competition and investor scrutiny mean managers must defend profitability through smarter pricing, tiered fee structures, and investment in AI, data analytics and automation (IBIS World, July 2025).
PwC’s Australian funds database includes over 200 funds and mandates and provides a current view of sector fee structures and pricing levels. These findings are supported by industry expert interviews and set out in this report.
