Organisations are focusing more than ever on workplace diversity and inclusion, but is it making a difference to the LGBTI+ community?
Building on the success of our inaugural report in 2016, PwC again took the unique opportunity to engage with the LGBTI+ community directly at the Midsumma Carnival in 2017. The team surveyed over 550 attendees about their experiences of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Our report ‘Perspectives on LGBTI+ inclusion in the workplace’ explores a range of current issues including; encounters of homophobia, the impact of coming out at work and how people feel about the diversity climate in their organisation.
The report explores three key themes from the survey results:
- The variability of LGBTI+ experiences across industries
- The positive impact of having an LGBTI+ network in your organisation
- The importance of employees being their authentic selves and having supportive leadership to bring their whole selves to work.
