Background
Containerchain is a fast growing Australian company that has developed a disruptive software solution for the container logistics sector. The company generates both transaction and subscription revenue streams derived from the movement of shipping containers. Its technology places barriers on competing products entering the space.
PwC was engaged as Containerchain's M&A advisor on its capital raising. PwC coordinated a global marketing campaign to identify interested investors and provided an integrated solution which proved critical to the success of the engagement, the solution included M&A advisory and tax structuring.
Transaction Summary
On 10 August 2016, PwC concluded a 12 month process for Containerchain Pty Ltd to successfully secure CHAMP Private Equity as an equity investor going forward.
CHAMP acquired a 50 per cent stake in Containerchain for an undisclosed sum, structured to include an up front component to de-risk founders, an earn out-component and new capital into the busisinss. The new capital will help to accelerate Containerchain’s global growth strategy.
