PwC Australia is continuing to invest in the experienced capabilities that clients need to navigate a rapidly changing business environment, announcing today the acquisition of Advancy Australia, the specialist value creation and commercial due diligence firm.
Completed on September 30, the acquisition will see Advancy Australia founders Carl Brostrom and David Thevenon join the PwC Australia partnership, along with their team. The move strengthens PwC Australia's value creation and commercial due diligence capabilities, complementing its existing deals, tax and transaction advisory services.
Responding to an increasingly complex and AI-enabled market, the acquisition reflects PwC’s global focus on building differentiated expertise that helps clients identify growth opportunities, execute their transformation and then work with them on operations to create long-term value.
For the deals business, this means bringing together specialist capabilities from across the firm to provide clients with greater value and more connected support throughout the deals and transformation lifecycle.
"The nature of advisory is changing. Clients are looking for experienced professionals and deeper sector expertise, more integrated support and partners who can help them move from strategic decisions to outcomes. Advancy Australia strengthens our ability to support clients across the investment and deals lifecycle, combining specialist commercial due diligence and value creation expertise with PwC’s broader deals, industry and transformation capabilities."
PwC Australia has one of the country’s leading full-service deals advisory businesses, trusted by corporate and private equity clients to help shape, execute and realise value from their most important strategic decisions. PwC Australia's Deals Leader, Kushal Chadha, said: “Clients are making more complex deal decisions and are looking for sharper commercial insight and more integrated support before, during and after transactions. They’re also looking for more than just advice, they want a connected journey across the transaction lifecycle. We’re pleased to welcome Carl, David and their team to PwC to help us enhance that support, and our focus is on a smooth transition for our clients and our people.”
Advancy Australia co-founder Carl Brostrom said: “Since 2013, we have established a strong reputation for advising leading private equity investors and corporate clients in Consumer, Healthcare and Industrials. PwC’s scale, breadth of capabilities and deep industry expertise will enable us to offer our clients greater support across the full strategy and transaction lifecycle.”
Advancy Australia co-founder David Thevenon said: “We are thrilled to be joining PwC Australia. The combination brings together two highly complementary teams and creates an exciting opportunity for our clients and our people. It will enable our amazing team of people to build their career in the pre-eminent professional services firm.”
Advancy Australia is an independent partner of the Advancy network.
The acquisition is part of PwC Australia's broader investment in the future of advisory, which aims to build the specialist expertise, industry capability and integrated delivery models that clients increasingly require as they navigate growth, transformation and reinvention.
It also reflects a broader focus on bringing together complementary capabilities across the firm, enabling clients to access deeper expertise through a more connected advisory experience.
As organisations respond to emerging technologies, evolving business models and increasing market complexity, PwC continues to invest in the capabilities that help clients move from strategy to execution and sustained value creation.
Last month, the firm welcomed Sydney-based financial services transactions expert Dominic Leary as a new partner, bringing the Deals partnership to 59 as it continues to grow across the Asia-Pacific region.
