Strategy

Our integrated consulting team is well versed in bringing together qualitative and quantitative capabilities to undertake strategic planning, develop implementation plans, and conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses. We have deep experience in conducting organisational and program maturity assessments, delivering business and financial advisory services, and working with government agencies to ensure they have the right structure, analysis, tools and supporting information to inform Cabinet decision-making.

Workforce transformation

We understand that the nation’s ageing population, coupled with changing consumer preferences, and ongoing sector reforms present new challenges to the stability of the aged care workforce. We have experience in workforce assessment, strategy, planning and design to support reconfiguration of the workforce with the right size, skills, diversity, recognition and culture to meet the growing demands and complexity of aged care. Our skilled team has the knowledge to support government to improve safety, quality and customer experience by supporting the sector to build and retain a skilled, professional, compassionate, and values-based workforce. 

Research

Our team has extensive expertise in conducting primary and secondary research to guide program or project planning, policy development and support evidence-based decision-making. We have a strong track record in conducting international and domestic evidence reviews, for example, in quality and safety and use of technology in aged care. We have also tested methodologies to support the implementation of large-scale surveys which can be used to collect the perspectives of senior Australians, their family members and carers.

Capability uplift

Our team has strong experience in supporting organisations with capability uplift, particularly in response to changing workforce needs and the implementation of new technologies. We are well versed in approaches to assessing digital maturity within sectors and organisations and upskilling teams in digital literacy, data and analytics, and continuous improvement. For example, we have worked extensively to assist in the operationalisation of quality indicators, and understand the significance of workforce training and development and organisational governance to support the uplift and upskill of talent.

Consumer and sector engagement

Our stakeholder engagement capability works at the nexus of human and digital experience. We have extensive experience in incorporating diverse views by leveraging inclusive and accessible tools and processes to deliver written, virtual, and in-person consultations. We elicit insights from diverse users and apply robust methods to shape their perspectives and experiences into key findings. We also have experience in delivering pilot programs with user testing mechanisms to enable the capture of real-time, technical feedback from stakeholders.

Change management

We have an experienced change management team at PwC, with practitioners who have deep cultural change expertise. Our people are typically PROSCI accredited and trained in implementing our tried and tested change management approaches. With a detailed understanding of the impact of change within organisations, our team has the maturity to provide strategic advice and the credibility to challenge and drive behavioural change with leaders and workforces, preparing and engaging them for change and supporting them through skills reviews, right through to implementation.

Digital transformation

Our digital transformation specialists have expertise in supporting organisations to understand their current digital capabilities to inform planning, delivering target state initiatives, reviewing interoperability opportunities, and supporting with digital implementation. Our transform framework, associated methodologies and toolkits can inform the development of a digital roadmap and plan that aligns short-term and long-term goals to support the implementation of digital technologies.. 

Evaluation services

Our evaluation experts have strong experience in conducting evaluations of pilots, projects and programs to support organisations and governments with informed decision-making. We have delivered small and large scale process and outcome evaluations, and have experience conducting post-enumeration reviews to support policymakers in understanding the accuracy of data collected through existing or proposed new programs.

With projections showing that the number of Australians aged 85 years and over will grow from 2.0% of the population in 2018-19 to 3.7% in 2058, this reflects an increase of approximately 1 million people in this age bracket building demand in a system already under pressure.
