Quantum technologies have the potential to be transformative

They will impact the way we do business, secure our data and help solve some of the most complex problems facing mankind. Breakthroughs are being made every day and Australian quantum technologists and academics are punching above their weight in the quantum race.

But quantum is a concept that can be hard to grasp and, while quantum technologies offer much potential, they also present problems, especially as it comes to cybersecurity. In the simplest terms, quantum technologies, when applied in the cybersecurity domain, will effortlessly break through most of the current encryption we rely on today to protect our data. And while the technology is not there yet, ‘Q-Day’ is inevitable - some experts say it could come within five to 10 years.

With the quantum revolution marching closer, PwC is developing  a clear and pragmatic strategy for adoption, application and implementation of these disruptive technologies.

We want Australian organisations to be prepared for the opportunities and challenges quantum technologies will present and we want to work with our nation’s thriving quantum industry to help us lead the way.
