Tom Gunson

About Tom

Tom is the Clients and Markets Leader at PwC Australia and a member of the Management Leadership Team.

He oversees our priority clients, industries, geographies, market segments and relationship programs. Tom works with our clients and teams to identify and address evolving market trends and champions a culture of client-centricity in everything we do. 

He is also the Global Client Partner for one of Australia’s largest institutional banks, a position he has held for the last seven years. His passion is in helping clients deliver outcomes on their most important opportunities and complex problems. 

Prior to this role, Tom was PwC Australia's Financial Services Leader, working with a team of over 1,500 financial services professionals across PwC’s Consulting, Assurance and Financial Advisory businesses.

Tom joined PwC as a graduate in 1981 and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, sixteen of which were spent working across all industry sectors in international markets such as the UK, Europe and the USA.  

During his time overseas, he was a member of PwC UK’s Consulting Leadership team and led the firm’s Chief Financial Officer relationship programme. 

Tom has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Accounting. Tom is married to Nicola and is a doting dad to five-year-old Elessa. 

In his spare time, Tom enjoys relaxing with the family, a glass of his favourite red and listening to cheesy 80’s music.
