Our story started in 2016 with a clear idea: to help business communities and purpose-driven partners work together to solve systemic problems through genuine co-design and shared ownership. In the years since 2016, we've grown alongside PwC's commitment to postive social and environmental impact, focusing on key areas for our future: climate resilience, First Nations prosperity and responsible technology.

In 2016, incubated in The Difference with a team of two, The Impact Assembly launched as a PwC social enterprise with three aims:
In 2017 The Impact Assembly moves to the Social Impact portfolio to harness PwC’s broader capabilities for greater impact and our strategic focus is building cross-sector collectives for system change on important problems.
Establishment of The Constellation Project, a cross-sector collaboration to drive action on homelessness. Using Social Labs methodology to drive rapid solution development, the project engages over 2000 people in shifting systemic issues in housing and homelessness.
The Impact Assembly starts work on a series of long-term collaboration projects including Learning Creates Australia, Farming for The Future, Climate Leaders Coalition and Cricket for Climate.
Learning Created Australia is a national collaboration to reimagine educational equity for young Australians. Leveraging social lab principles, the initiative brings together educators, policymakers, and students to design new learning credentials and systems.
Technology collaboration with Infoxchange to address digital inclusion in the not-for profit sector. Using co-design methodology and working with technology providers, government and NFP's to design systemically targeted solutions to improve access to digital tools and services for the sector supporting Australia's most vulnerable communities.
Farming for the Future with the Murdoch foundation. This cross-sector collaboration seeks to transform agricultural sustainability at a national scale, providing evidence of the integral role agriculture plays in decarbonisation. Using systems-change approaches, the project engages farmers, industry leaders, and researchers to embed regenerative practices and influence policy.
The Climate Leaders Coalition (CLC) is a cross-sectoral group of CEOs signed-up to support the Paris Agreement – including Australia’s commitment – to keep global warming to well below two degrees above pre-industrial levels. The Impact Assembly supports thematic working groups for emissions reduction, transition and for nature.
Working with the Climate Leaders Coalition, The Impact Assembly supported development of the Scope 3 Roadmap: Practical Steps to Address Scope 3 Emissions, written by CEOs for CEOs.
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Association (NATSIHA) launches in November 2022, the first National Indigenous housing peak body. The early work of the new peak includes convening a round table of industry leaders to drive action on First Nations Housing, strategy development and execution.
Climate Leaders Coalition with the support of the Impact Assembly developed a concept and a pilot for sustainable agriculture and emissions reduction in a brewing value chain. The TIA also supported a toolkit for the demand-side energy business case.
