The Victorian Government is aware of issues related to building practitioners obtaining appropriate and affordable professional indemnity (PI) insurance. Further, many practitioners are only being offered policies with significant exclusions, in particular, for cladding related works.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has been engaged by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) to examine recent changes in the PI insurance market for building practitioners, and separately, the nature and extent of impacts associated with COVID-19 on building practitioners and the building sector more broadly.
To support this review, PwC is seeking responses to a short (10-15 minute) confidential survey. In order to complete the survey, it will be helpful to have knowledge of your/your business's current and recent PI insurance arrangements (such as premiums, level of cover and policy exclusions). If you do not have this information readily available, you can choose to skip these questions and complete the remaining sections of the survey.
