Pursuant to Section 1603, and Section 508 [repealed] of the Corporations Act 2001 (the Act), we have lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) a report detailing:
PPB Advisory merged with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on 1 August 2018. As a result, the majority of PPB Advisory’s partners and staff joined PwC, including the Liquidators of the Group. We do not consider there to be any conflict or impediment for us to continue to progress the liquidation. Therefore, the liquidation of the Group continues as usual. We lodged with ASIC an updated DIRRI reflecting the above information.

A report in accordance with Insolvency Practice Rule (Corporations) 2016 70-40 has been lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, issued to creditors of the Group, and attached to the right of this page.
At the second meeting of creditors on 30 June 2017, the creditors voted that all entities in the Group are placed into liquidation.
All entitlement letters and PAYG summaries have been posted.
Whilst we anticipate the letters to be received shortly, we note Australia Post’s revised protocol for domestic letters has increased to up to six business days.
The Administrators consider that Meeting One is the appropriate meeting for students and employees (except Workstar employees) to attend.
The Administrators give notice that a copy of the report prepared to creditors (together with notice of meetings) pursuant to Section439A of the Corporations Act 2001 is attached on the right of this page.
The Administrators have worked closely with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and TAFE Directors Australia (TDA) to agree a format for providing Vocational Education students impacted by the Careers Australia Group collapse with Statements of Attainment to assist them in transitioning to new education providers.
Students are required to pay all outstanding tuition fees before a Statement of Attainment is issued to them.
The Administrators will endeavour to provide a Statement of Attainment to students within 7 days of receipt of the outstanding tuition fees.
For students with fees outstanding, please email administration@careersaustralia.edu.au showing evidence of remittance of funds, reference and amount paid along with your request for your Statement of Attainment.
For students who do not have a debt outstanding, the Administrators are making arrangements to issue a Statement of Attainment to affected students as soon as practicable.
All Statements of Attainment will be in an email format which has been endorsed by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and TAFE Directors Australia (TDA).

On 29 May 2017, the Administrators’ obtained orders from the Federal Court of Australia pursuant to section 447A (1) of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) permitting the Administrators to give notice of the meetings of creditors under Section 436E (3) of the Act electronically. Careers Australia Group Limited and its subsidiaries appointed David McEvoy and Martin Ford of PPB Advisory as Administrators effective 25 May 2017. The appointment was made by the directors pursuant to section 436A of the Corporations Act.

TDA operates the Tuition Assurance Scheme for the Group, primarily for VET student loans. Under this arrangement, TDA has offered to assist students to move to another provider to continue their training and access VET student loans.
TDA has set up a call centre in conjunction with TAFE Queensland, where students can call and email their details, and speak to advisers. Students can call (07) 3307 4789. Students may also email their details including name, contact, course and campus to tas@tda.edu.au.

Tuition Protection Servicers (TPS) assists internationals students to continue their study with an alternative provider or provide them with a refund of their unspent tuition fee. Where a student is placed withan alternative provider, the student’s unspent fee is paid to the new provider. TPS will host a series of student meeting to provide all affected international students with information about your rights and responsibilities and provide placement assistance for you to commence studies with a new provider as soon as possible. Representatives from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) will also be available at the meeting for any queries/questions related to Visa, qualifications and student records, etc.
