Wealth Management CEO Survey

Welcome to the PricewaterhouseCoopers 2009 Wealth Management CEO Survey. This year, 29 wealth management CEOs took part in the survey, including 9 of the nation's top ten wealth managers. This represents approximately 80% of total assets under management, as well as 6 of the nation's 7 largest life insurers.

Key themes in the survey include:

• Confidence of many Australians has been challenged with diminishing balances
• Level of savings is still inadequate for far too many
• Financial advice has been a focus and challenged.

The Australian wealth management industry is facing its toughest trading conditions and recognises that it is on the cusp of change. Many in the industry have responded already with a focus on better communication, making simpler products available and improving transparency over fees.
