Derrick Vickers

Derrick leads PwC's Corporate Advisory and Restructuring team in Western Australia and has over 17 years experience in providing insolvency services and assisting businesses in distress. Derrick works with financial institutions and underperforming corporates to help them manage insolvency issues, implement turnaround and restructuring strategies and assess credit risks from loan inception through to secondary exits. He has been engaged in a large cross section of businesses from individual small businesses to multifaceted ASX listed entities in both formal insolvencies and corporate turnarounds.

Derrick is on the National Board and WA State Council of the Insolvency Practitioners' Association of Australia (IPA). He has contributed to and assisted in developing the code of professional conduct for insolvency practitioners as well as making submissions to government and regulatory bodies on various aspects of insolvency practice. He is also active in the education of the profession being on the education sub-committee of the IPA and an active leader in the insolvency education program (a prerequisite course to admittance to the IPA). Derrick is also on the speaking circuit and is an occasional guest lecturer at universities talking on topics relating to restructuring and insolvency.

Derrick is a registered and official liquidator in all states and territories of Australia and is appointed to failed corporates as voluntary administrator, liquidator or receiver and manager as appropriate.

Outside of professional commitments Derrick spends time with his wife and two young children, indulging in his passion for golf when he can.
