Zoomlens: cyber attack reporting is PwC's view on the growing threat of cyber attacks to organisations and the likelihood of increased pressure from regulators and the investing public to properly disclose non-privacy related cyber threats.

The paper was launched in response to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reiterating its guidance about cyber attack reporting late last year.

While the SEC guidance does not include any new regulations or reporting requirements, it does mark the start of what we believe will be a new focus on how organisations protect themselves and meet their disclosure obligations around cyber attacks.

Even if you are not SEC listed it's important to be aware of any local reporting requirements and to understand that you may be increasingly queried about your preparation for, and response to, cyber attacks.
