Report Leadership

Corporate reporting should be more informative and accessible

Report Leadership, a multi-stakeholder group, aims to challenge established thinking on corporate reporting. PwC is working with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Radley Yeldar and Tomkins plc to develop simple, practical ways to improve narrative and financial reporting in the belief that corporate reporting should:
  • be more relevant, informative and accessible
  • go well beyond issues of measurement and accounting, and
  • provide investors with what they want without inundating them with unnecessary detail.
At reportleadership.com you can download Report Leadership's publications which reflect the input and feedback from a number of investors. The three publications include:
  • A short framework document, which focuses on the issues investors want the reporting model to address.
  • A fictitious annual report of a company called Generico, which brings Report Leadership's ideas alive and illustrates how they can be addressed with creativity and thought. The report focuses on what is achievable within the current International Financial Reporting Standards model, by improving disclosure and presentation of information.
  • A third report presenting simple, practical proposals for better practice in reporting executive reward
