Scott James

Specialist area: Private Clients

Scott James is a Partner in the Private Clients team of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Perth.

Formerly based in the PwC Melbourne office, Scott became a permanent member of the Perth team in August 2010. Scott has over 14 years tax experience working with Australian private, listed and multinational clients across many industry groups including retail, manufacturing, transport and logistics, consumer products and property.

Scott has extensive tax expertise working with corporate private clients and specialises in the planning and implementation of acquisitions, divestments and restructures, as well as working with client in managing their day-to-day tax obligations.

Scott's areas of focus include recapitalisations, capital management strategies, employee equity plans and refinancing. In particular, Scott has significant experience in relation to IPO and/or trade sale transactions, structuring, modelling and Prospectus Disclosures.

In his role as the leader of the PwC employment taxes group in Perth, Scott provides practical solutions to clients in relation to their Employee Share Schemes, Pay-roll Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax and Superannuation Guarantee Charge obligations.

Scott is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has completed his Masters of Tax at Melbourne University. Scott is also a regular workshop leader for the ICAA Tax Modules.
